EuReComp Project is pleased to announce the release of its third newsletter, showcasing the latest developments and achievements within the project. In this edition, readers will find comprehensive updates from Work Package 2 (WP2), which is pivotal in advancing waste stream management for composite materials. WP2's progress is highlighted, particularly its efforts in developing a Smart tool supported by machine learning to provide recommendations for the most profitable route for EoL components.

EuReComp recently made a remarkable appearance at JEC World 2024, where partners from the project presented significant advancements in sustainable material technologies. The team showcased innovative recycled continuous fibers developed through a collaboration with NTUA and the University of Patras, alongside an intriguing 3D printed small-scale floating PV prototype created by INEGI.

We extend our gratitude to our gracious hosts at INEGI driving science & innovation for providing us with a wonderful venue at the historic Cálem Port Wine place. Belfast, Northern Ireland, recently hosted the 23rd International Conference on Composite Materials (ICCM 23) from July 30th to August 4th, 2023, offering an insightful peek into the forefront of composite materials research. The standout feature of the conference was the Special Session organized by the EuReComp team. This session zoomed in on the theme of “Circularity of Composites,” delving into sustainable practices within the composite materials domain and exploring novel approaches to address environmental concerns.

EuReComp, standing for "European recycling and circularity in large composite components" is a new 4-year Horizon Europe project, launched with a hybrid kick-off meeting on 27 April 2022. EuReComp brings together twenty project partners from 9 countries led by the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). EuReComp operates under a specific Horizon Europe research and innovation action aiming to foster a digitised, resource-efficient and resilient industry (HORIZON-CL4-2021-RESILIENCE-01-01).
